The
W2: Warriors to the Workforce Hiring Event San Diego will take place
May 24th, 2013 from 9am-3pm PST as an official event of the 2013
American Freedom Festival San Diego. Come aboard the historic USS
MIDWAY MUSEUM for an energetic, productive day for employers looking for
highly skilled Veterans, active duty military transitioning into
civilian life, military spouses and dependents.

W2: Hiring
W2:
Hiring events bring together major companies from throughout the
country to profile their services and provide employment opportunities
for our Veterans in a unique hiring event. Unlike any other career fair,
our events provide corporations with professional recruiting services
before the event to match their employment needs with qualified
Veterans. Corporations also receive scheduled interviews arranged by our
professional recruiter the day of the event. Veterans will have the
chance to talk with employers, submit qualifications, and even
participate in job interviews on the spot. Staff will also be on hand to
assist with pre-interview preparation and on-site job skills
development.
W2: Symposium for Corporate Leaders
The
W2: Symposium is an intense one-day immersion summit that helps
corporate leaders understand the culture of the military community,
identify the incredible skills sets present in our nation's military
service members and their spouses, and teach the "how-to's" of building a
successful recruiting and retention strategy. Presented in partnership
with Professional Coaching Consultants, W2: Symposium can be organized
in conjunction with hiring events or as a stand-alone program.
W2: Transition Workshops for Veterans
The
W2: Transition Workshops help prepare Veterans and active duty military
transition into civilian life. Presented in partnership with
Professional Coaching Consultants, each workshop is led by professional
instructor(s) and tailored to the needs of the registered participants.
Topics covered include resume preparation, interview skills development,
assistance with preparing an educational plan (if needed) and transfer
of military skills and training into civilian employment opportunities.
W2: Transition workshops can be organized in conjunction with hiring
events and are ideally suited as an on-base transition service.
About the W2: Warriors to the Workforce Program
The
W2: Warriors to the Workforce Program is a national initiative launched
by the American Freedom Foundation in 2011 to provide employment
opportunities for Veterans. In partnership with CareerBuilder and
Professional Coaching Consultants, the W2: Warriors to the Workforce
Program provides on and off-base hiring events for Veterans
transitioning into civilian life; professional recruiting services for
participating employers; a symposium for corporate leaders that provides
best practice approaches for establishing in-house Veterans hiring
programs; and transition workshops to prepare service men and women for
civilian life and employment.
About the 2013 American Freedom Festival San Diego
The
W2: Warriors to the Workforce Hiring Event San Diego is an official
event of the 4th Annual American Freedom Festival presented by SKYDEX.
The Festival will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. aboard
the historic USS MIDWAY MUSEUM and will feature the legendary Creedence
Clearwater Revisited. This annual concert will celebrate our Veterans
and men and women of America's armed forces at the Party of the Year
while benefiting Veterans Village of San Diego, San Diego Armed Services
YMCA, ReBoot San Diego and Home Aid San Diego.
