Underwriter Assistant
Job Purpose:
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys
working within a team environment; however can thrive and succeed as an
individual employee. UA will assist the underwriter in all phases of
their duties by obtaining, sorting, developing
of underwriting documentation and general organizing of information
with all available tools to the most efficient level.
Duties:
-Assist the underwriter in answering Producers’
questions and concerns; training Producers regarding procedures, product
knowledge and underwriting guidelines
-Populate underwriting risk analysis information
and provide any other informational documentation necessary for the
underwriter to make determinations on newly submitted applications
-Provide the underwriter with monthly reports on any upcoming renewal policies
-Prepare policy endorsements for underwriting review
-Administer WCIRB policy queries as needed
-Attend company training programs
-Update job knowledge by participating in
educational opportunities; reading professional publications;
maintaining personal networks
-Maintain inter/intradepartmental work flow by fostering a spirit of cooperation
Skills/Qualifications:
-Statistical analysis, reporting, dealing with complexity
-Sound judgment, process involvement, and general math skills
-Excellent planning and organizational skills
-Excellent telephone etiquette
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat.
-Familiarity with basic graphic design software such as Publisher, Quark or Photoshop is a plus, but not required.
