2.   FHD Engineering Opportunities, Raleigh, NC, Field Services Technicians

FDH has immediate openings for Field Services Technicians.  We are looking for road warriors who are not afraid of heights. Responsibilities
Field Services Technicians will perform the following duties and responsibilities as cross trained field services personnel:
  • Conduct on-site inspections/investigations, including survey and documentation of existing conditions, field testing, photographing, and sketching
  • Utilize excavation equipment to assist in on-site investigations
  • Set up and utilize data acquisition equipment
  • Conduct tests to exacting standards as directed
  • Perform telecommunication tower inspections to include climbing towers in excess of 500 ft.

3.   Pacific Trades Plus Opportunity, San Diego, CA, NAVSEA Qualified Vibration Tester

We have an immediate need - which includes someone that can go to sea for 1 to 5 days (locally off San Diego coast during sea trials).
Here's a description of what we're looking for, a NAVSEA-qualified vibration tester or analyst with either 1000-plus hours or 3000-plus hours experience (which comes from the NAVSEA Standard Items manual).

Experience Sought:
Experience working on Marine Electrical Systems as a mechanic or electrician. Experience working with vibration testing and analysis on marine systems (pumps and motors).

NAVSEA-qualified vibration - NSI 009-104 Minimum personnel qualifications: For vibration testing, personnel shall have the equivalent of 1,000 man hours of combined experience in: vibration concepts and terminology, the use of vibration equipment, performing equipment calibration, using electronic data collectors for monitoring and recording of vibration data, the attachment of transducer mounting disks and blocks, the selection and location of transducers, calculating machine frequencies, and have a qualified Vibration Category I certification from the Vibration Institute, or equivalent experience and training.

For vibration analysis, personnel shall have the equivalent of 3,000 man hours experience in: the use of FFT analyzers and data collectors, identifying machinery faults, performing spectral analysis, performing vibration testing, and have a knowledge of the engineering units involved, have a qualified Vibration Category II certification from the Vibration Institute, or equivalent experience and training.

Technical Skills:
  • Ability to install, setup, program and calibrate vibration test equipment such as but not limited to the Fluke 810. Align and Balance rotating machinery preferred. Ability to setup proximity probes, velocity and accelerometers sensors.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Experience with power distribution devices and systems is a plus.
  • Use and operate the following test equipment, digital multimeter, amp meter, Frequency meters oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, data logger, Frequency generators, Phase meters.
Administrative and Leadership Skills:
