NAVNET BREAKFAST

DECEMBER 2013 NAVNET BREAKFAST REMINDER
Folks,

It's that time of the month again, time to clear your schedules and mark your calendars for the last NAVNET breakfast of 2013.  As usual, we'll get together onFriday, 20 December at Trellises Garden Grille in the Town & Country Hotel in San Diego's Mission Valley. They open the doors at 0700 so, that's when we'll get started.

I've updated the contact spreadsheet and uploaded it to our current web site(www.navnetonline.netthis evening.  So, it's available now for your use. The spreadsheet is password protected so you'll need to get the password (it's a new link & password each month for security purposes) from me BEFORE you try to open it.  If you try to open it without the password, you'll get an error message and it will take a long time to get it. So, just shoot me an email asking for the new password in order to open it.  I recognize this could be a pain but I want to protect the data as much as possible while still making it available for use by NAVNET members.

In order to maximize the utility of the spreadsheet, I recommend opening it and then saving it to your computer. That way, you can sort it to suit yourself.

PREVIEW OF COMING CHANGES TO NAVNET

NAVNET has become so successful in assisting current & former military members in making career transitions that it's out grown the individual hands-on manual processes that have served us so well. To bring the processes into the 21stcentury, I've set up a new entity (NAVNET Resources Inc.) and web site (www.navnetresources.com).  The web site is currently under development and I expect to have it up and running early in 2014. Here are a few highlights of what's coming in the New Year...

What's going to change...
1)    In addition to the periodic Job Opportunity emails that you receive, we'll post the same information on the web site and they'll be accessible for several weeks.
2)    The contact spreadsheet of NAVNET members will be converted to a new and improved searchable database accessible where you can connect to other NAVNET members quickly and easily.  It will be updated constantly and will no longer require individual requests for access.
3)    Access to the web site will be by User Name & Password.  For current NAVNET members, we'll create your initial User Name (we'll use your NAVNET email address) and initial Password (the same email address) that you change the first time you log in.

What's not going to change...
1)    You'll still receive the periodic NAVNET Job Opportunity emails in your in box.
2)    The process to "post" job opportunities is still the same. Contact me directly and I will ensure your jobs are published promptly

When the web site is on line, you'll each receive an individual email announcing it and providing more details. I'm convinced that these changes will allow NAVNET to continue to grow and provide a valuable resource to military members and veterans in their career transitions.

Hope you can make it to breakfast on the 20th and for those of you unable to join us, I'd like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Be safe out there.
