Class A Driver

Class A Driver -- immediate opening (South San Diego)

South Bay Sandblasting and Tank Cleaning, Inc. is looking for a driver having a Class A Commercial drivers license. The work shift is normally 6:00 am to 3:00 pm but it is expected that overtime hours will be required.

We are looking for someone having a minimum of 2 years experience with a stable work history. Must have a clean driving record and must present a current DMV printout. HazWoper Certification preferred; HAZMAT ENDORSEMENT IS REQUIRED.

Essential Functions:
This position requires loading of trucks, including lifting up to 50 pounds; securing and cinching of equipment and supplies and ensuring they do not move during transport; conveying employees to the worksite; running supplies to worksite personnel; and other responsibilities.

This position involves primarily local driving.

Education:
High school graduate preferred.

Required personal attributes:

Must be dependable, punctual, organized, and willing and able to follow directions.

Working Conditions:

Driver will be operating 10 and 18 wheelers. This is a fast-paced work environment necessitating that the driver only requires minimal supervision; driver must use discretion in ensuring the safe delivery of equipment, supplies, and personnel.

Knowledge of use of a forklift is preferred.

Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. 

Again, this position involves primarily local driving.

Other requirements:
Must be able to qualify for RapidGate security clearance. Ability to read basic English is preferred. U.S. Citizenship is preferred (for some work locations it is required). Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
