• Get one‐on‐one assistance with your resume; refine your interviewing skills, and more
• Learn directly from business professionals, veterans, career, and Human Resources experts who
will share their expertise and experience
• Meet working professionals and start building your network
CTAP is free to all participants, but please pre‐register. These interactive and highly‐informative classes
are scheduled in the evenings two times per week for four weeks. A binder and flash drive with valuable
materials, handouts and resources will be provided. An optional one‐hour lab (with internet connected
computers) will also be available for one‐on‐one coaching and assistance.

Class Time: 6 pm to 9 pm plus optional lab times (5 pm – 6 pm) by arrangement

your skills, interests, and goals.

Job Search Basics: Successfully navigate job descriptions, business etiquette,
salary expectations, and more.
3 Monday,
Feb. 11
Create a Winning Resume: Identify your marketable military skills, experience, and
value.
4 Wednesday,
Feb 13
Professional Networking Techniques: Networking is a contact sport. Use LinkedIn,
your personal/professional network effectively.
5 Monday,
Feb 18
Interviewing Skills: Speak the employer’s language, sell your skills, and get the job.
6 Wednesday,
Feb. 20
Manage Your Wellbeing: Balance physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health
during the job transition.
7 Monday,
Feb. 25
Business Panel/Interviews: Learn from corporate business experts. Mock
interviews and feedback.

Resource Fair /Graduation: Additional community and business support.

THE PROGRAM
The Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) of Veterans Association of
North County (VANC) is a free service provided to all ranks and branches of our
dedicated military personnel re-entering the civilian job market and veterans
who are currently unemployed or underemployed.
Through our workshop series, we provide hands-on training, coaching and tools
to help you be better prepared to:
• Assess your marketable skills
• Create dynamic resumes
• Interview with confi dence
• Set clear career goals
• Network effectively
• Job search purposefully
