Job description

Internal Job ID 19641

About the Opportunity
The Principal Engineer’s role is to design, develop and direct the implementation of in-house information systems and networked software architectures that support core organizational functions, and assure their high availability. This includes conceiving, analyzing, defining, developing, testing and maintaining new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. The Principal Engineer must be able to directly engage in design discussions, and demonstrate the ability to see the application from the user's point of view, across the enterprise. He/she will also spend time presenting solutions and "evangelizing" the product to users and clients, and developing a variety of documents from high-level architecture diagrams to detailed technical specifications; thus, the successful Principal Engineer will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Principal Engineer's ability to self-direct, take initiative, set goals, develop and enhance department standards and meet aggressive deadlines is a key factor in the overall success of the product development organization.
