B. Logistics Lead (Ref. #1401)
Applicant will function as a member of a hybrid government, contractor team; interfacing with end users, material managers and enterprise specialists to resolve material availability issues. A logistics background with emphasis on Navy supply support and familiarity with munitions, Defense Logistics and U.S. Navy Supply System is preferred. USN shipboard experience helpful, experience in U.S. Navy requisitions and material receiving techniques are required. Understanding of the Navy Supply System requirements, policies, nomenclature, work methods and established guidelines as stated in NAVSUP-P485 or other DoD regulations. Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance. Occasional short-term travel may be required. Desired Education: High School Diploma required, 2 years of additional education or 3-5 years' experience in material management/supply requisitioning or equivalent experience. Responsibilities include: Analyze logistics data, identifying and predicting deviations from process, and making procedural changes to take advantage of increased opportunity for efficiency or correct inefficiencies within the logistics systems. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with customers to perform implementation planning and operational execution. Follow all corporate and internal NUWC policies and procedures. Work with the MRC Program Manager to develop a tasking approach for each project area. Includes identifying the level of effort and technical competency required to support each TO. Create standardized processes that can be used to support individual tasking areas. Facilitate training for team members on needed skills to implement standard or new operations. Ensure that all the health, safety and legal requirements are met. May have supervisory responsibility at the level of Selection, Hire, and Performance Management of departmental staff. Provide inputs to MRC Program Manager for subordinate employee's annual reviews as appropriate. Monitor workers to spot any procedural breaches and correct them in a timely manner. Coordinate with warehouse supervisor Spot Inventories, Cycle Count Inventories, and Wall to Wall inventories encompassing all housed line items for internal and external audits. Oversee kitting operations as well as prepositioning of assets for future installation and support. Preferred/required skills: Experience in use of government provided IT resources, Web based, standalone applications, and manual report generation are integral program support functions. Significant understanding of customer needs and business in the mission critical supply chain industry. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills, though knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Ability to create reports and spreadsheets utilizing commercially produced and in-house software programs.

Our business, which includes a Part-61 flight school, a Part 145 maintenance repair facility, and a certified aircraft brokerage, needs an experienced, team-oriented individual to lead our line department by example. Our FBO services everything from the small, single-engine pistons of local pilots to the Gulfstream G500s of celebrities headed to vacation in Park City.
As our line service supervisor, your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Conducts quality control testing on company fuel supplies and maintaining detailed records of fuel supply and the equipment used to store and deliver it.
- Coordinates with fuel suppliers to ensure the timely restocking of company fuel supplies.
- Trains and supervises junior line staff in the safe operation of all ramp equipment in accordance with company policy.
- Performs all basic line services, including aircraft towing, fueling, ground power, lavatory, aircraft parking, luggage services, etc.
- Works closely with concierge receptionist to ensure the timely arrival of catering, passenger transportation, and other services.
- Performing or coordinating maintenance of ground service equipment including fuel trucks, GPU's, lavatory cart, tugs, etc.
- Performing or coordinating maintenance of airport buildings, hangar doors, traffic gates, fuel farms and pumps, airport lighting, NAVAID's, ramps, airport grounds, taxiways and runways.
- Composes invoices for flight school and line services rendered.
- Directs and assists in snow removal operations during the winter months.
- Receives and responds to after-hours service requests at a special, augmented rate of $50/hour.
A high school diploma (or equivalent education) and previous experience in line service (5 years minimum) or equivalent military experience are required for this position. Benefits include a sign-on bonus, a competitive salary, medical benefits and free flight time. Base salary depends on extent of experience - the range is $42K to $48K. The Vegas Valley Hand Crew is part of the Bureau of Land Management Fire and Aviation program located in Las Vegas, Nevada. A hand crew consists of 20 men and women who work together as a cohesive unit to suppress wildland fires and conduct fuels projects throughout the United States. The Vegas Valley crew was established in April of 2012. The crew is unique in the fact that it is one of only three fire crews in the U.S. that are comprised of military veterans. We are currently looking to fill seasonal firefighter positions for the 2014 fire season.

Position

The Director of Military Education will manage the District's contract education programs at the various military installations in San Diego and nationally. The incumbent is also responsible for business development and other efforts to acquire new contracts and expand the contract education portfolio.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of training programs under contract at various locations locally and throughout the United States.

- Assure the timely and accurate development of assigned budgets for contract education programs; monitor and control program operating budgets; direct the evaluation of equipment and facilities and recommend improvements as needed.
- Conduct analyses and prepare and deliver presentations to government program officers, SDCCD Board and leadership, and the community.
- Collaborate with college and Continuing Education personnel on related academic and student matters.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, AND,
- One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment.
