Immediate Leadership Opening for Hazardous Waste Program Manager at Various US Naval Facilities throughout Southwestern CA:

Provide team leadership for, and ongoing program management and technical oversight of, hazardous waste facilities at the designated installation, other assigned special areas, and aligned environmental operations to ensure the installation is in full compliance with all federal, state and local environmental regulatory requirements and exercising best management practices. Management responsibilities include daily hazardous waste operations, including the storage, disposal, transportation, document control and treatment of HW.   Also provide technical guidance for government personnel including assistance with related project planning, financial analysis, budget submittals, operational efficiencies and environmental database management packages.

Leadership: Train, mentor, and provide input to non-supervisory staff; advise management on labor issues; identify and support mandatory training opportunities; promote skills and track EEO policies. Identify HW program tasks and work priorities for non-supervisory employees, align workload schedules to optimize efficiency; and review work products of non-supervisory staff to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with environmental requirements. Provide technical guidance and assistance to the management of databases and administrative functions where needed.

Must have 8-10 years of related experience showing results-driven leadership skills and with provable proficiencies in all California and Federal environmental laws and regulations, permitting requirements and processes.

Education: Bachelor's degree; environmental sciences; Masters is a plus.

Position Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required and eight (8) years of experience leading teams supporting DoD Supply Chain-related activities to include supply status tracking, production coordination, technical research and supply chain analysis.

Position Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required and four (4) years of experience leading teams involved in life-cycle logistics, maintenance engineering and supply support.

4.  Cowen & Associates Opportunity, Newport, RI, Navy Supply Corps School (NSCS) Advanced Management Program Administrative Assistant

Position Description:
The Administrative Assistant supports the NSCS Executive Education and International Program office and the C&A Program Lead by providing administrative support for the NSCS Advanced Management Program (AMP).

AMP is designed to equip senior officers (O-5 or O-5 select) and DoD civilians (GS-13 or above) with the tools necessary to formulate and implement strategy, develop and manage networks of people, and incorporate experiences into a broadened policy-level perspective.

Functional Tasks: 
  • Provide on-site administration support to the NSCS Director of Executive Education and International Training and the C&A Program Lead beginning the Friday before course commences as well as Monday - Friday from 0700 until 1200 during the two-week course.
  • Assist Program Lead collecting funds from students for snacks.
  • Assist Program Lead with daily set-up of classroom and break-room, including:
    • Purchasing snacks and beverages utilizing funds provided by the students.
    • Setting up beverages and snacks in the break-room.
    • Maintaining the break-room in a clean, sanitary condition.
    • Classroom set-up and clean-up
    • Making copies of visual aids, handouts, charts, videos, diagrams, models, graphs, or other necessary training aids to support and/or augment the course, as required.
    • Assist Program Lead with nametags, name placards for desks, welcome brochures, and class shirt distribution.
    • Assisting faculty and guest speakers as required.
    • Making copies of course CD/DVD containing all class material for distribution to students at the completion of the course.
    • Assisting Program Lead with classroom, break-room, and administrative office clean-up at end of course.

Personnel Security Requirements:

The NSCS Director of Executive Education and International Training will issue to the Contractor or Contractor personnel appropriate paperwork to deliver to the Pass Office in order to obtain Naval Station Newport base access. Contractor personnel may be required to present identification. Within twenty-four (24) hours, Contractor personnel who no longer perform services on this contract shall be required to return all passes to the COR. Upon completion of this contract, all passes shall be returned to the COR.

Hours of Operations:
The client's hours of operation are between 0700 and 1630 EST, Monday through Friday. The Administrative Assistant will be required to work:

0900-1100 Friday prior to course commencement
0700-1200 daily during the course

  • Develops and maintains Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) for Maintenance Availabilities.
    • The testing plan will include all checkpoints/callouts within the work specification and any applicable checkpoints/callouts in referenced standard items.

The CM Planner will work with members of the ESS team, the LCSRON staff, and the SWRMC staff to successfully support corrective maintenance planning efforts.

  • Collects and compiles metrics for internal and customer monitoring of maintenance performance.
  • Plans and schedules instrument calibration requirements and maintenance of required data and reports.

Lockheed Martin has an immediate opening for a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Work Control Coordinator. The position is located in San Diego, CA, with possible travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to support shipboard maintenance efforts. This position is for LCS-3 USS Fort Worth.

Position Description/Responsibilities:

The LCS Work Control Coordinator will plan and document maintenance requirements, assist in the execution of maintenance, and provide technical assistance to maintenance suppliers. Candidate prepares and maintains maintenance schedules to ensure LCS ship equipment is properly maintained in accordance with customer directives.

  • Candidate uses customer and LM software solutions to schedule maintenance requirements on all shipboard systems and equipment; receives and incorporates periodic revisions to maintenance procedures; submits, reviews and provides recommended action to recommended changes to processes; supervises the accomplishment of maintenance; provides technical assistance to maintenance performers; and provides maintenance status reports as required by the Maintenance Manager and customer.
  • Candidate interfaces with and supports USN/LM maintenance/supply personnel; investigates supportability problems and makes recommendations for resolution; independently identifies program critical support issues and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Candidate will be required to supervise maintenance accomplishment onboard the LCS ship, including quality assurance, obtaining customer acceptance and coordinating between the customer and suppliers to resolve conflicts.
