This is an immediate need .Our shop is located in La Mesa and this is a part time position (presently approximately 15+ hours per week) but may eventually grow into full time. This is not an entry-level or trainee position, although we will train the successful candidate on our products, components, and shop procedures. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is required. Any views or opinions expressed within this e-mail message (including attachments) are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of the San Diego Workforce Partnership. ******************************************************************************************************************** WICKED COURSING LLC JOB POSTING – PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE _____________________________________________________________________________________ Job Title: Production Associate II Reports to: Production Supervisor and CEO Essential functions of the job: Assemble machines and their components, cut and form metal and/or plastics, use a manual lathe to turn shafts and cut threads, read wiring diagrams and make wiring harnesses, meet production deadlines, manage parts and components inventory, fit components into housings, assist with ongoing product development, use power tools/hand tools correctly, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, occasionally make tools to suit shop needs, repair shop equipment as needed. After training, will be expected to completely build and assemble machines and other products without assistance or guidance. Essential skills required to perform the job successfully: Experience using hand tools, working with metal, knowledge of correct method of using power tools, knowledge of electrical systems, know how to read a wiring diagram, knowledge of mechanical systems, understanding of force and torque, ability to install components without damaging parts. Knowledge of parts and components including their names, uses, and application. Ability to use the internet. Physical or mental skills required: Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, must be able to stand for long periods of time; ability to use hand tools in small machines, excellent hand-eye coordination, ability to think “outside the box,” must get along well with others in a small shop environment. Mathematics skills. Willingness to do whatever is needed. Training and educational skills required for satisfactory job performance: Automotive mechanical/electrical systems experience, some mechanical engineering training or education highly desired. Good shop safety procedures and conduct required. Working conditions under which the job is performed: Small shop environment, some noise, shared space with other Production Associates, critical Production and shipping deadlines, very high quality of work & work-product requirement, fast-paced work. This position requires the work to be performed with minimal supervision. Problem-solving skills required: Ability to trouble-shoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems, ability to assess and solve “fit” problems, ability to assess design of components and suggest alternatives. Advancement potential: Production Associate II may advance to Production Associate III.
