Good Afternoon,
Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar will be holding a Re-entry Resource Fair on May 16th for military individuals releasing from the brig soon. The individuals you would be helping are transitioning from the military and prison. Most individuals will have challenging criminal records and punitive discharges, while others will have minor criminal records and honorable discharges. Men and women from all branches of the service reside in our facility. All are looking for hope, inspiration, resources, and guidance before taking transitioning to the next journey in their lives.
I am requesting local and national resources/ agencies to set up a resource table and/or provide a short 30-45 minute informational class relating to transition.
Last year's event was successful and I could not have done it without you. Some companies who gave presentations or set up a table were, but not limited to: Accion, Veterans 360, SAY San Diego, Center for Employment Training, Full Spectrum Wealth, National Veterans Transition Services, INC., Disability Help Center, EDD, and VA.
Please see attached letter for more information about the event.
If you are interested please let me know the following details when you reply:
Do you have access to the Miramar Base and if not I will create a letter to help with your access.
Are you interested in giving a short 30-45 presentation on the 16th about your services or general transition class?
Would you be willing to share this event with your network?
Thank you so much for your time! I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.
Very Respectfully,
Michelle V. Davis, M.S.
