Please forward applications to Sonia Peterson at: speterso@dor.ca.gov (contact info below)Additional details:Although this is new to San Diego, the program started in 1998 (in Florida) and is now partnering with 35 Hyatt Hotels and 10 State VR Agencies in FL, TX, MO, DC, VA, MD, PA, CO, WA, and CA. The application process is relatively easy and you can obtain an application on the website atwww.handsoneducation.net The cost of the training is $3000.00 and it includes the training, uniforms, meals, tools, and a salary. Students are temporary employees of Hyatt and are paid for all hours during the two-week training period. More importantly, graduates are able to use Hyatt as an employment reference, which is critical for Transition Students with no work history or Adult Clients with major employment gaps. The program has received national recognition for its unique approach to training and the employment of persons with disabilities.
