Description
For a small size medical company in San Diego (five employees)Logistics Administrator will oversee daily operations that align with company goals and objectives, in addition to being responsible for shipping and logistics, database management, accounts payable, order fulfillment, and assisting with sales administration. 
Duties
  • Physically manage inbound and outbound shipments, both domestic and international
  • Process Accounts Payable items such as bills and statements from vendors
  • Find, implement, and maintain inventory management software to suit company’s rapidly growing sales
  • Assist with operations and logistics for specific departments upon request
  • Interface with sales department and customers for sales administration
  • Able to lift boxes up to 40 pounds
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in logistics or operations, preferably for a medical device company
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field
  • Experience working with inventory management software
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and/or any Windows based software
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Team-work and collaboration skills
  • Customer focused
  • Working visa - legal to work in the US
Details
A typical day for the Logistics Administrator (LA) would involve receiving any number of sales orders, communicating with the sales department to finalize orders, and preparing either a 10-pound box (multiple shipped daily) or 40-pound box (multiple shipped weekly) for shipment. LA would use inventory management software to record all relevant information related to the sale. LA would also field varied calls from sales reps and customers, generally sales admin-related or logistics-related. Daily duties of LA would include paying bills as well as handling day-to-day office operations (ordering supplies, liaising with office building management, etc). An important component of LA’s duties will be receiving international shipments of inventory (monthly occurrence) and organizing it both physically and electronically.
