VetWORKS for Job Seeking Veterans


 
 VetWORKS
The VetWORKS Program offers customized employability services to help transition into high-wage, high-growth occupations in the civilian workforce.


Eligibility:

Veterans who have separated from the military within the last 48-months, and Veterans with Service Connected Disabilities who received a DD214 for conditions other under than dishonorable conditions, and who are seeking employment. http://www.able2work.org/programs/vetworks/

Services include:

·         Vocational Assessment – Identify basic skills levels, potential career options and training or employment options for those with marketable skills.

·         Career Counseling – Case managers work one–on–one with Veterans to identify transferable skills, barriers to employment, make referrals to resources and training, and assist with job search and placement.  Assist in getting job ready and mock interviews.

·         Labor Market Information – Enables Veterans to gather occupational information to assist them in making a career choice in order to direct training or to find a job.

·         Job Readiness Training – Resume/Cover letter writing, interview techniques, and the latest job search techniques.

·         Support Services – Veterans may receive assistance for transportation, work clothing, tools, vocational training leading to credential, or other work – related assistance.

·         Referrals to VA for Federal Benefits and Cal Vet for State Benefits – Some Veterans are not aware that they may be eligible for benefits such as housing, disability, or educational benefits.

·         Paid internships and on-the-job training

·         Free IT and Healthcare Training, PMP, Microsoft 2010 Suite and IT Training
