TITLE: Career Advisor

QUALIFICATIONS:


Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Service and/or minimum of3 years experience in

Workforce Development or related field. Must possess good written and oral communication skills as well as

familiarity with personal computers. Must have a valid drivers license and transportation with insurance

coverage

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager. Performs outreach and recruitment,

counseling, ETP and WIA eligibility, suitability assessment, assessment testing, and case management.

Maintains confidentiality regarding individual clients. Acts as liaison between employers and CTS. Works


as

part of the Employment Specialist team to provide training and assistance with job search, job

resume/application completion and job interviewing skills. Develops internships, OJT's or


work experience

when


needed and responsible for job placement functions.

RESONSIBILITIES:



• Performs outreach and recruitment of eligible applicants for programs. Contacts local Cal WORKs,

ECM company, Family Resource Centers, EDD offices, One-Stop Career Centers, Community Based

Organizations, local LEA's, churches and civic groups.

• Conducts presentations to various institution and agencies regarding navigation services in the Allied

Healthcare Industry program.

• Conducts program presentations for the interested applicants and provides information on

documentation necessary to determine program suitability.

• Conducts one on one interview to assess applicant interest, aptitude, work experience, and suitability for

acceptance into program.

• Provides Office Manager with completed client forms for data entry.

• Acts as client advocate and resource for training opportunities through Individual Training Accounts,

and assist with supportive services based on need and non-duplication.

• Conducts job search and job readiness workshops to all clients and provides one-on-one employment

case management.

• Develops and maintains contacts with employers to obtain job leads internship


/OJT opportunities.

Conducts follow-up visits to internship sites and with all trainees placed into employment and collects

appropriate signatures on required documentation.

• Coordinates job interviews and company tours with employers, instructors, and clients.

• Obtains all required job placement information from employers


.

• Job Coaching by maintaining contact with participant and employer to assist in the transition to work.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
