Basic Assignments

Specialty Instructor II - Personal Trainer

Starting Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.00/hour
Status/Hours: Part Time
Basic Assignments
Instruct members on safe, effective methods of strength training and general fitness conditioning.
Qualifications
• Possess strong customer service skills.
• CPR and First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Must posses national certificate in Personal Training or BA/BS in health related field
• Minimum 1 year experience creating and implementing personal training programs.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies in an emergency
situation.
• The physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
• The physical ability to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Position requires ability to stand for extended periods of time (5-7 hours).
• Minimum age of 18 years old.
Major Functions
• Working knowledge of body mechanics.
• Ability to instruct others in exercise techniques.
• Ability to motivate and retain client base.
• Set up personal programs for members according to their goals.
• Have the ability to motivate and help others.
• Keep facility and equipment clean and well maintained at all times.
• Demonstrate proactive approach to customer service.
• Must attend required staff meetings.

nstruction of gymnastics classes as assigned to promote a safe and fun atmosphere while offering quality instruction.
Qualifications
• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Minimum of one year of gymnastics instruction experience or related child care experience.
• Familiar with USA Gymnastics progressive levels.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must have the physical ability to lead and interact with group activities and perform related physical skills.
Major Functions
• Interact in a positive manner with children.
• Possess basic knowledge of gymnastics skills.
• Show enthusiasm, leadership, fairness, and fun when teaching.
• Follow all lesson plans and teach accordingly.
• Always project a positive image of the YMCA at all times.
• Implement Character Development values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, & Responsibility in Gymnastics lessons.
