THE POSITION

C.  Senior Failure Analysis Engineer in Poway

General Overview:
This position reports to the Quality Director. The person in this position will provide support for the reliability of our products by performing detailed root cause failure analysis (to the component level) of production and field failures. The Failure Analysis Engineer (FAE) is responsible for confirming the root cause of these failures and conducting effective corrective action to prevent recurrence. The failure analysis will be conducted for failures at the pcba level and system level. The FAE reviews and approves engineering drawings and changes for impacts to reliability. The FAE collaborates with production personnel to optimize production processes.

  • The FAE position is directly involved in proactively eliminating the sources of defects and failures before they occur. This will be accomplished thorough extensive DFX reviews prior to production release. Working with the design engineers, the person in this position assures that reliability requirements are incorporated into our designs from the beginning.
  • Conduct failure investigations of electronic hardware, identifying root cause, recommending corrective actions and verifying effectiveness of actions taken.
  • Will work closely with contract manufacturers and other suppliers to improve product reliability.
  • Perform reliability measurements and calculations (MTBF, production yields, etc) of OUR products.
  • Release MTBF and failure analysis reports and track continual improvement.
