JOB SUMMARY:
The County of San Diego is currently accepting applications for the position of
Administrative
Analyst I-Budget Fiscal Option
. Administrative Analyst I-Budget Fiscal Option is the first
professional working journey level class of this series. Incumbents are responsible for budget
analysis, financial planning, and fund management; monitoring and controlling; fiscal or quantitative
management approaches and techniques; and administration of trust funds and special accounts.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies
equivalency in public, personnel or business administration, finance, statistics, economics, or a field
of study closely related to the duties and the knowledge requirements of this option,
AND, one (1)
year of full-time professional level experience that included assisting higher-level staff with budget
preparation and fiscal management; ascertaining reasons for variations in expenditures and
revenue; and assisting/coordinating data for budget analysis, preparation and forecasting;
OR,
2. Five (5) years of full-time professional level experience that included assisting higher-level
analysts with budget preparation and fiscal management; ascertaining reasons for variations in
expenditures and revenue; and assisting/coordinating data for budget analysis, preparation and
forecasting.
Note:
A master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies
equivalency in public, personnel, or business administration, finance, statistics, economics or a field
of study closely related to the duties and the knowledge requirements of this option, may substitute
for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
Education and work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. In order for education
to substitute for work experience as indicated above, college level coursework must demonstrate
progress toward a related degree as stated above.

Written Examination:
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be required to take and pass the written
examination in order to continue in the selection process.
The written examination is scheduled
to take place on Saturday, October 27, 2012.
The written exam is multiple-choice and covers the
following areas: data analysis; budget/fiscal/math; organizational skills; and contract administration.
Qualified applicants will be notified via email of the time and location of the test at least ten (10)
days prior to the test dated stated above.

Background Investigation:
Must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions

Evaluation:

twelve (12) month employment list based on
scores received from the written exam.
