WE are recruiting to fill an entry level management consultant position in the Northern Virginia area. Successful candidates will join a team competing for a three year contract (1 year base, two 1 year options) with the Joint Staff.   At Supply Chain Vistas, we align supply chain strategy and operations to support the mission, with a particular expertise in operational and interagency supply chain integration in non-permissive environments.
This competition centers on the Joint Staff J4 Joint Interagency Logistics Integration strategic planning efforts.   Military operations must be coordinated with the activities of other agencies of the United States Government regional organizations, coalition partners and the host nation. Interagency coordination forges the vital link between the military and the diplomatic, informational and economic instruments of power of the US Government. A capability gap exists in which disparate interagency resources, instruments and authorities make the planning and execution of joint interagency logistics cumbersome and inefficient. It is therefore necessary to develop a campaign plan for joint interagency logistics. The interagency logistics approach will be integrated into the overall Join Staff J4 strategy.
This is an ideal position for a recently retired junior officer (less than 10 years of experience) with significant interagency, coalition, or inter-service logistics experience in the deployed environment.
Requirements:
  • Masters + 5 years related experience in interagency logistics coordination or in joint planning OR bachelor's + 10 years

This individual serves in an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level I position with expected development into IAT Level II or Level III position. Incumbent will coordinate with other FT31 branch members, and offsite customers, including engineers; sponsors, security specialists, and other Information Technology (IT) support personnel. providing direction for administrative coordinators regarding University policy/requirements; ensuring that established deadlines are met; participating in bi-weekly office meetings with the Dean, Associate Dean and Resource Manager; acting as the College liaison with other offices on campus; working with College committees as needed; regularly establishing and maintaining procedures within the College to properly report access to confidential data to Academic Affairs to mitigate risk; assisting the Dean with the functioning of the College's Executive Committee by scheduling meetings, suggesting agenda items for the Dean's consideration; taking and distributing minutes and following up on items as required; planning and carrying out the annual Faculty Retreat held in August and monthly All-Faculty meetings (this includes suggesting agenda items for the Dean's consideration, contacting and organizing speakers and all logistics); periodically leading administrative aspects of College-level accreditation activities; maintaining a thorough knowledge of the College's development priorities, major donors and development activities; consulting with the Dean and College administrators on marketing messaging and positioning with all constituent groups; making suggestions in these areas for the Dean's consideration; maintaining an understanding of University Relations and Development (URAD) policies and procedures to assure that they are properly implemented in the College and maintains BSR Advance clearance; organizing all administrative aspects of the bi-annual Engineering Dean's Advisory Board meetings; serving as the primary administrative contact for 25 industry leaders who are members of the Board; producing collateral materials and annual member directory; producing and/or leading production of marketing materials including College's brochure, annual fact sheet, electronic newsletter and website; maintaining and closely monitoring/scrutinizing the Dean's highly changeable and complex calendar; providing direct, confidential support for the Dean by researching and analyzing information from a variety of sources in order to draft and preparing correspondence and reports, at times including sensitive and confidential information; formatting and finalizing presentation materials as requested; formatting and preparing the annual Academic Plan, Annual Report and accreditation materials as required; reviewing the Dean's incoming correspondence and monitoring/preparing responses as appropriate; acting as liaison, on behalf of the Dean, to outside agencies and campus offices; responding to inquiries from media, government officials, College donors, campus agencies and students; and organizing responsibilities, issues, action items and deadlines for the Dean's review, often based upon University procedures and in collaboration with other units on campus.
  
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of general university infrastructure, policies and procedures. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities; make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment; compile, write and present reports. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the College of Engineering and serve as a liaison to many other units in the University and the community. Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  
Experience and Education

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of office coordination experience. Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of the required work experience. Experience serving in an administrative support/executive assistant position to a high-level leadership role such as department chair, dean, vice-president, etc.  
Specialized Requirements
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office Programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and calendaring systems. Familiarity with SDSU's Webportal, PI Profile, Oracle and BSR Advance. Thorough familiarity with event planning. Working knowledge of graphic design, layout, photo editing and website support.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree. Experience working at a university; producing collateral materials such as newsletters and brochures; and working with websites. Two years of administrative/executive experience. Previous lead/supervisory experience including hiring, training, and setting work priorities.

Job Summary:
The incumbent serves as a Branch Chief in the Office of Technology and Survey Processing, serving in the Directorate of Technology and Computing Services' Division of Technology and Network Management. BLS is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the DOL. This position has no promotion potential. This position is outside the bargaining unit. This position will not be filled until the Department's Placement Assistance Programs have been fully utilized. A writing sample may be required at the time of the interview.
