POSITION SUMMARY

This Electronic (EW) Warfare Database Engineer, receiving prioritized requirements,
works under the direction of the Navy Information Operations Center (NIOC) Norfolk
EW Database Manager and with Model Developers and Subject Matter Experts to achieve
a robust, maintainable and effective EW database system. This Engineer will perform
technical requirements analyses, develop technical solutions, implement designs,
perform unit testing, and support systems testing and fielding of the EW Database.
The Engineer will be required to work with a team of developers and subject matter
experts to develop, enhance, integrate, and support the EW database. The Engineer
will act as mentor to junior database engineers and will follow Software Engineering
life-cycle engineering processes, as tailored for NIOC Norfolk. Primary development

Duties and Responsibilities:

CACI has an immediate opening for an Engineer at our Dahlgren, VA location to perform
studies concerning issues related to SLBM new targeting initiatives and new Fire
Control System (FCS) capabilities. Duties and responsibilities will include developing
and preparing TRIDENT II SLBM FCS fleet documentation products such as Newsletters
and Training Targeting handbooks, and developing and preparing inputs to documents
such as Principles of SWS Operations, Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs), and FCS Technical manuals for our Navy clients. Responsibilities
may also include receiving, reviewing, and preparing responses to SLBM Trouble and
Failure Reports (TFRs). Additionally, the successful candidate may be asked to attend
with and/or represent our client at various design reviews and meetings. Occasional
overnight travel may be required.

Required Qualifications:

Typically requires a BS degree from an accredited college or university in a technical
discipline or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience. If non-degreed,
if the degree is in an unrelated field, or if formal training falls short of a degree,
specific experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree. This experience
must include:

General Experience - Six (6) years of work-related experience demonstrating both
a comprehensive knowledge of word processing software applications and office practices
and a high degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and
detailed documents in Microsoft (MS) Office including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel,
MS PowerPoint, MS Access, and MS Project. Experience in preparing and/or maintaining
documentation pertaining to programming, systems operation and user documentation.
Experience translating business specifications into user documentation. Experience
in planning, writing, and maintaining systems and user support documentation efforts.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.

Specialized Experience - Possess a total of two (2) years of specialized experience
in the Operation of SLBM Fire Control Systems and operating experience in SSBN Weapons
Systems or direct fleet documentation support which demonstrates three or more of
the following:


* Knowledge and understanding of the documentation and the weapon system equipment
it supports, including targeting, operational, and training documentation;
* Knowledge of the contents and purpose of the documents, both those prepared at
NSWCDD and those for which NSWCDD provides input to other activities;
* Knowledge of the inter-relationships involved in documentation prepared by one
activity but to which contributions are submitted by other agencies;
* Understanding of the operational requirement for the documents;
* Understanding of the use of fleet documentation in a training environment;
* Operating experience in Weapon Systems, Trouble Failure Reporting or Planned Maintenance
System Feedback Reporting;
* Understanding of the fleet related mission of all activities involved in the TFR/3M
systems and how these activities interface;
* Technical writing related to generation of fleet documentation;
* Documentation and Change Report handling and accountability;
* Operation of auxiliary equipment and documentation of procedures for equipment
operation and accreditation for secret and top secret operations;
* Knowledge and understanding of Document Type Definition (DTD) Design; and Interactive
Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) experience.

The ideal candidate would be a served Missile Technician.

Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
