We currently have an opening for a Hydro- Mechanical Design Engineer at our Sky Park facility in San Diego. Nature and scope: The Hydro-Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for providing functional, easily manufactured and tested hydro-mechanical system and component designs for new production that help ensure the reliable operation of turbine engines and driven equipment. Principal Accountabilities: Duties include interpreting project requirements and furnishing of project hydro-mechanical system and component designs, selection, and documentation. Ensuring a high level of support, coordination, and communication is provided to other Design and support organizations. Coordinating with Purchasing and suppliers for hydro-mechanical system components, such as lube oil coolers, pumps, motors, valves and instrumentation. Supporting Manufacturing Assembly and Test to ensure high quality hydro-mechanical build and operation. Working closely with Project Management, Commissioning, and Customer Services on technical, customer related issues. Job Requirements: * Minimum of a BS in Engineering required. * BS in Mechanical or Systems Engineering is preferred. * Minimum of 1 year supporting hydro-mechanical systems for turbomachainery products is preferred. * Experience using the Promis-E drawing platform is highly desired. * Good understanding of manufacturing and testing processes, along with knowledge of controls, gas turbine operation, and driven equipment. * Ability to work in a team environment required. * Clear and concise communication skills required. * Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet varying milestones is needed. * Attention to detail concerning specifications and documentation are a must.
