SAN DIEGO - National Veterans Transition Services Inc., (NVTSI) will host the Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event for veterans during the WEST 2014 Annual Conference & Exposition at the San Diego Convention Center Feb. 11 - 13, 2014.
Veterans, transitioning service members and their spouses will have the opportunity to talk with employers, submit qualifications and even participate in job interviews on the spot. Daily workshops will cover mental readiness, confidence building, networking and presentation skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, job searching, career planning through goal setting, translating military skills and training into civilian life and corporate experience, among others.
Jim Carman, Military Officers Association of America Transition Center director will provide in depth information about personal branding and policies affecting active duty and retired service members.
Vincent W. Patton III, AFCEA International president for corporate outreach will share his expertise in helping veterans maximize their military skills and experience in the civilian sector.
Angus McDonald, National Veterans Transition Services, Inc. Workshop Facilitator will help attendees understand how to get mentally ready for civilian employment by "REBOOTing their Career After Military Service."
Michelle Moses, San Diego Gas & Electric Human Resources Department will share insights on preparing the right resume that appeal to hiring managers.
