GTAW and SMAW butt weld and socket weld processes on the following materials in
the shop (on table) as well as onboard (in position): Copper nickel, stainless
steel, carbon steel and aluminum. Familiarity and compliance with NAVSEA
Mil.Std. 22- D, tech manuals 248 and 278 in order to maintain customers’
quality standards. Ability to mirror weld and weld in positions with minimal
clearance.
386136 Conventional/Manual Machinist
Able to run conventional lathes, mills, Vertical Turret
Lathes (VTL's), Horizontal Boring Machines (HBM's), grinders, as well as
programmable machines. Must have either 5 years shipyard experience or equal in
manufacturing environment (Tool & Die, Aerospace, etc). Able to read
prints, manufacturing parts from drawings and samples. Tolerances within
.002". Offsite machining and large shafting (i.e. Ship Propulsion)
